Lover Book Tag

By: Cait Marie

I was super excited to see Sara @ The Bibliophagist created this tag! Given that I’m low-key obsessed, I couldn’t resist. I even got my ME! long-sleeved shirt and signed single a couple weeks ago.

Rules:

  • Link back to the creator, Sara @ The Bibliophagist!
  • Answer the questions!
  • Tag whoever you want and link back to the person who tagged you!

I Forgot That You Existed: A book from your childhood that you don’t remember anything about

it isn’t love, it isn’t hate, it’s just indifference

Where the Red Fern Grows – Wilson Rawls

I remember reading this together as a class in fourth grade, but I literally don’t remember anything except there are dogs.

Cruel Summer: The worst book you’ve read this summer

it’s blue, the feeling I’ve got and it’s… it’s a cruel summer

The Last One – Tawdra Kandle

It’s not that this was a bad book… it just wasn’t very memorable. I vaguely remember that the story felt a little forced and awkward in the end. It wrapped up really fast compared to the rest of the story, so the pacing felt wrong.

Lover: A bookish relationship that’s perfect exactly the way it is

can we always be this close forever and ever

Malec = Magnus Bane + Alec Lightwood

Did anyone actually expect a different answer? I love Malec with all my heart. No one will ever beat them.

The Red Scrolls of Magic

The Man: A book with a badass female main character

if I was a man, then I’d be the man

Harper from A Curse So Dark and Lonely – Brigid Kemmerer

I wrote about Harper for the Fierce Female Fall Featurette Blog Tour, find it here! Harper is amazing and doesn’t let anything stop her from fighting for those she loves.

The Archer: A book with great character development

I see right through me

Juliette and Warner from Shatter Me – Tahereh Mafi

The character development in the Shatter Me series is the best I think I’ve ever seen. I have loved seeing them grow and be amazing. I’m so sad the series is ending, but I’m also so excited for the next book!

Defy Me

I Think He Knows: Your fictional crush

he got my heartbeat skipping down 16th Avenue

Rhys from A Court of Thorns and Roses – Sarah J. Maas

Rhysand is the absolute best. If you haven’t read the series, do it. Now.

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince: A book set in high school

waving homecoming queens, marching band playing, I’m lost in the lights

Listen to Your Heart – Kasie West

I mainly read YA and I’ve been on a contemporary kick lately, so there were a lot to choose from. However, Kasie West was my summer obsession, so I have to go with one of hers, and I loved Listen to Your Heart. It was adorable!

Paper Rings: A book with a happy ending

I like shiny things, but I’d marry you with paper rings

Dating Nashville – Ann Maree Craven & Michelle MacQueen

My favorite song on the soundtrack gets my favorite book of the summer. This book was so amazing and that ending… perfect!

Dating Nashville

Cornelia Street: A setting you’ll never forget

“I rent a place on Cornelia Street,” I say casually in the car

Adaptive – Becky Moynihan

Becky has done such an incredible job creating the dystopian world in The Elite Trials trilogy. It’s so unique, while still being imaginable. I love it!

Death by a Thousand Cuts: A book that broke your heart

I can’t pretend that it’s okay when it’s not

Empire of Storms – Sarah J. Maas

This isn’t surprising. If you been following for a while, you know this book always wins the broken heart categories in tags. It DESTROYED me.

London Boy: A setting that plays a big role in the story

show me a gray sky, a rainy cab ride

Aerion – Lela Grayce

This whole book is about four elemental kingdoms in the magical world of Gaai. The different places play a huge part in the story and the characters’ abilities.

Soon You’ll Get Better: A book that made you cry

what am I supposed to do if there’s no you? ♪

A Court of Wings and Ruin – Sarah J. Maas

I’ve literally never cried so hard in my life. At least not over fictional characters. I couldn’t see to continue reading, I could barely breathe. It was awful. 10/10 would recommend!

False God: A book with a well-written sexy scene

I know heaven’s a thing, I go there when you touch me, honey

Ignite Me – Tahereh Mafi

WHAT?! That’s right, changing things up and not saying A Court of Mist and Fury! I figured I should limit my SJM answers. Besides, Ignite Me is right up there with it in my opinion. Hmm I just realized both have a LOT of similarities… enemies-to-lovers, guy who doesn’t think he deserves happiness, a table… 😂😂😂

You Need to Calm Down: A book featuring an LGBT romance

shade never made anybody less gay

Red, White & Royal Blue – Casey McQuiston

I haven’t talked about Alex and Henry in a minute… I miss them.

Afterglow: A great second chance romance

why’d I have to break what I love so much?

The Man, the Myth, the Nerd – Maggie Dallen

Oh, I just finished this one and have to include it! It’s out now, so check it out!

ME!: Your all-time favorite book

I promise that you’ll never find another like me

City of Bones – Cassandra Clare

It’s not technically my favorite book, but it’s the beginning of my favorite series. It’s a huge reason why I’m an avid reader today. In the last decade, I’ve read it 8 times!

It’s Nice to Have a Friend: Your favorite friends-to-lovers book

something gave you the nerve to touch my hand

On the Fence – Kasie West

As I said, the Kasie West obsession was real this summer. On the Fence is probably my favorite, though. It was precious.

Daylight: A book with a positive message

you gotta step into the daylight and let it go

The F Word (Now titled Dating My Best Friend) – Michelle MacQueen & Ann Maree Craven

This book could have been for the last song too, but I wanted to have a different book for each. It’s. So. Perfect. I love this book for so many reasons, and it being friends-to-lovers is just one of them. There is also such a powerful message in loving yourself. The whole trilogy is just wonderful.
