I Forgot That You Existed: A book from your childhood that you don’t remember anything about

I remember reading this together as a class in fourth grade, but I literally don’t remember anything except there are dogs.

Cruel Summer: The worst book you’ve read this summer

♪ it’s blue, the feeling I’ve got and it’s… it’s a cruel summer ♪

It’s not that this was a bad book… it just wasn’t very memorable. I vaguely remember that the story felt a little forced and awkward in the end. It wrapped up really fast compared to the rest of the story, so the pacing felt wrong.

Lover: A bookish relationship that’s perfect exactly the way it is

♪ can we always be this close forever and ever ♪

Did anyone actually expect a different answer? I love Malec with all my heart. No one will ever beat them.

The character development in the Shatter Me series is the best I think I’ve ever seen. I have loved seeing them grow and be amazing. I’m so sad the series is ending, but I’m also so excited for the next book!

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince: A book set in high school

I mainly read YA and I’ve been on a contemporary kick lately, so there were a lot to choose from. However, Kasie West was my summer obsession, so I have to go with one of hers, and I loved Listen to Your Heart. It was adorable!

My favorite song on the soundtrack gets my favorite book of the summer. This book was so amazing and that ending… perfect!

Becky has done such an incredible job creating the dystopian world in The Elite Trials trilogy. It’s so unique, while still being imaginable. I love it!

This isn’t surprising. If you been following for a while, you know this book always wins the broken heart categories in tags. It DESTROYED me.

London Boy: A setting that plays a big role in the story

This whole book is about four elemental kingdoms in the magical world of Gaai. The different places play a huge part in the story and the characters’ abilities.

Soon You’ll Get Better: A book that made you cry

I’ve literally never cried so hard in my life. At least not over fictional characters. I couldn’t see to continue reading, I could barely breathe. It was awful. 10/10 would recommend!

False God: A book with a well-written sexy scene

WHAT?! That’s right, changing things up and not saying A Court of Mist and Fury! I figured I should limit my SJM answers. Besides, Ignite Me is right up there with it in my opinion. Hmm I just realized both have a LOT of similarities… enemies-to-lovers, guy who doesn’t think he deserves happiness, a table… 😂😂😂

You Need to Calm Down: A book featuring an LGBT romance

It’s not technically my favorite book, but it’s the beginning of my favorite series. It’s a huge reason why I’m an avid reader today. In the last decade, I’ve read it 8 times!

It’s Nice to Have a Friend: Your favorite friends-to-lovers book

As I said, the Kasie West obsession was real this summer. On the Fence is probably my favorite, though. It was precious.

Daylight: A book with a positive message

♪ you gotta step into the daylight and let it go ♪

This book could have been for the last song too, but I wanted to have a different book for each. It’s. So. Perfect. I love this book for so many reasons, and it being friends-to-lovers is just one of them. There is also such a powerful message in loving yourself. The whole trilogy is just wonderful.
