Top Ten Tuesday: Books Read in 2021

By: Cait Marie

Hello! It’s that time… Below is my list of top 10 books of the year, which was extremely hard to narrow down. So, some are actually series, otherwise it would just be the same few authors on the list. I’m also not including any re-reads because I read a lot of old favorites this year.

At the end, I’ve included some of the staff’s favorites as well!

10. Reluctant Rockstars series by Michelle MacQueen & Ann Maree Craven

I adored this YA romance trilogy. It was so fun, yet moving. I loved every second of these books.

9. Immortals of Indriell series by Melissa A. Craven

I’m slowly working through this series, and have loved all the books so far.

8. Always in Love series by Michelle MacQueen

I absolutely adore this Gulf City world Michelle has created, so I’ve really enjoyed getting more stories about new characters here.

7. Aurora’s End by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

This was one of the most satisfying series finales I’ve ever read. This whole trilogy was amazing.

6. Of Thorns and Beauty by Elle Madison & Robin D. Mahle

This dark Beauty and the Beast retelling is everything! I’m still dying to read the other books… these authors distracted me with a new series that may or may not be further down the list…

5. Queen of Thorns by Stacey Trombley

Another super satisfying series finale. I am sad this series is over, but the ending was amazing.

Apparently, I failed to review this one somehow. I’ll do so soon!

4. The Last Hours series by Cassandra Clare

Every time I start a new Shadowhunters series, I think, “There’s no way I’ll like this one as much as the others.” Every time, I’m wrong. I loved the first two books and am not-so-patiently waiting for the third. I need it!

Somehow, I didn’t review either of these, so I’ll get those up soon too.

3. A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

I think the only thing surprising about this being on my list is that it’s not higher (lol!). I finally got my Nessian book, and it was everything!

2. Fae’s Rebellion by Melissa A. Craven & M. Lynn

This whole series is incredible, but this one is my favorite so far. Within this series, the first three books read as a complete trilogy, the next three as a trilogy, etc., meaning this is the first in a new-ish story. These authors always amaze me, but this one really just went above and beyond, and I can’t wait to start the next one soon!

Review coming soon!

1. The Lochlann Feuds series by Robin D. Mahle & Elle Madison

To absolutely no one’s surprise, my favorite books of the year are The Lochlann Feud series!! I’m completely obsessed, though, I haven’t finished them yet. I’m currently reading Crimson Kingdom. This is a sequel series to The Lochlann Treaty, which I also love. These authors expanded on this world so perfectly, and I’m now just shoving the books in everyone’s faces because people need to know. It’s fantastic.

These also win favorite covers of the year!
