#READShadowhunter: City of Glass (Week 1)

It’s City of Glass time!! I’m so excited. I think this is my favorite of the series… but I tend to say that about each as I read them.

For those just joining us, Stephanie over at Books in the Skye put together this year-long Shadowhunter read-a-long, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it. We started in April with The Infernal Devices, and we are now reading the third book in The Mortal Instruments (my favorite!).

Each week, I will be answering a couple questions based on the assigned chapters. Then, at the end of the four weeks, we will host a live chat on Twitter and I’ll share a full review.

This Week’s Questions

Q1. Jace wants Simon to lie to everyone because he thinks it’s the best for Clary. If you were Simon, what would you do?

A1. I understand they want to protect Clary, but I don’t know if I could lie to someone about that. Especially because she’s going to save her mom. I wouldn’t want to stand in her way. However, I would do just about anything to protect my family and friends though, so I get Jace and Simon’s decision. I honestly don’t know what I’d do.

Q2. Clary is hurt that Jace lied to her and left her behind. Even with all the warnings from Magnus and Luke, she creates a portal and goes to Alacante. If you were Clary would you have taken the risk and gone to Alacante or wait to see how you could get there the right way?

A2. Being as stubborn and determined as I am, I would probably create my own portal and go myself. Especially if it was to get answers on how to save a loved one.
