Friday Favorites: Auto-Buy Authors

Auto-Buy authors are the authors whose books you buy without a second thought. You may even pre-order them because you know you’ll most likely buy it anyway. Here are a few of mine and why.

Melissa Marr

I have talked about her Wicked Lovely series on this site a ton. She’s very good at creepy stories. I’m not typically into super scary books, but her books are a good mix of creepy and full of messy drama.

Cassandra Clare

Her Shadowhunter books filled the void in my heart after Harry Potter ended and fueled my love for snarky and sarcastic love interests.

Sarah J. Maas

She is probably my favorite author right now. I’ve read most of the books she’s written except for Catwoman: Soulstealer. I’m excited to read her future books, but I have plenty of other books to read in between releases.

Cait Marie

She fuels my love for pirates, romance, and college romances. I’m always excited to read her books.

Robin LaFevers

This author captured my heart with a convent of assassin nuns. Ever since I first read Grave Mercy, she has been an auto-buy author for me.

Brigid Kemmerer

Brigid Kemmerer stole my heart with her Cursebreaker Series. She created an amazing character with Cerebral Palsy. Usually, authors tend to either undo a character’s disability or make them awful. Harper was amazing with her disability, so it caused me to want to read everything she’s ever written.

Kiera Cass

Kiera Cass wrote one of my favorite dystopian romances, The Selection. It’s like The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor. It has political intrigue, scandal, and forbidden love, and it does an excellent job of explaining the dynamic between social classes. She has a duology, The Betrothed and The Betrayed, that has a similar vibe that I own but have not read yet.
