Mariah’s Review of “Nancy Drew Mystery Stories: The Secret of the Old Clock” by Carolyn Keene

By: Mariah Brown

I wanted to start this review by discussing how much I enjoyed growing up with Nancy Drew and reading her stories. I recently came across a thrift book store that had some of the books in the series at a discounted price and was really excited to gain more of the series and re-read it.

So, that brings me to my review of the first book, The Secret of the Old Clock. I still, to this day, love Nancy Drew. I enjoyed all the clues throughout the story, which led to solving the mystery. I enjoyed how Carolyn wrote this mystery.

This series is a great junior high level read to start a student out on longer chapter books. It has great characters and takes the reader on an adventure, which I know that was what I was looking for at that age.

I give this book a 5/5 stars for both enjoyment and because it was amazing to read. I definitely think many others would love to read this series and will enjoy it as much as I did.

I can’t wait to start the next book in the series. If you want to join me in reading this series just let me know in the comments below.
