Mariah’s Review of “One Left Alive” by Helen Phifer

I have not read a Helen Phifer book before, but I can definitely say I am a huge fan. This is the first book in her Detective Morgan Brookes series, and it had me hooked until the end. I enjoyed every bit of this book and can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

The character development that occurred with the growth of Morgan was great. She was more confident as the book went on, which gave her the best advantage towards the end. I loved seeing what her next thing to investigate would be.

I wish there was more description on the town she was located in because I believe it is located or meant to be located somewhere in England and I’m not as familiar with how the cities and rural area are set up around there.

I give this book a 5/5 stars. I absolutely loved every minute of it. I can’t wait to continue in the series. If you like a good mystery, this book is for you because even I couldn’t figure out who did it till the end.
