Indie authors are some of the best motivations for me as a writer. They are the brave ones that put their books out there for everyone to enjoy on their own without a huge publishing house behind them. Here are a few of my favorites and a few authors who are on my TBR.
Kate Roth
Kate was my first introduction to indie books. I read her first book The Low Notes on the recommendation of a friend. I loved it. It was a quick but engaging read. She writes romance novels with some pretty intense sex scenes and language. You can find her books on Amazon here.
Favorite book: Natural Harmony
Cait Marie
I have read almost everything by this author. She’s amazing, and I admire her work ethic. She writes science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance. You can find her work on Amazon here.
Favorite book: The Lost Alliance
Elle Madison and Robin D. Mahle
I’m a part of their Drifters and Wanderers group on Facebook. They write awesome fairytale retellings, and they are best friends who write together. I haven’t read any of their books yet, but when I get the extra money, I plan on reading all of their work. You can buy all of their books on Amazon here.
Most Anticipated Series: The Lochlann Treaty
M. Lynn and Melissa A. Craven
I’m obsessed with books about fae. I’m currently reading Fae’s Deception, the first book in their Queens of the Fae series. I’ve never read a story where a magical character was actually committed. I think it’s a really refreshing twist. I’m curious to read the rest of the series. You can find the rest of the series and their other books here.
Currently reading: Fae’s Deception
Have you read any of these? Who are your favorite indie authors? Let me know in the comments!
