I barely read anything last month… I finished five books. Two were my own while editing, and two were re-reads via audiobook. Only one was a new-to-me ebook!
This month, I have to finish writing a book, finish writing two short stories, write a whole other book, and then edit all the above along with The Lost Alliance. Not to mention I have like five or six editing/proofreading jobs to do in the next few weeks.
But I still want to get through a good number of books! Specifically, I want to finish a paperback because it’s been over a year…
So, here’s what I want to read (or finish reading) in May:

Kate in Waiting – Becky Albertalli
I was lucky enough to get a paperback ARC of this, and I’m absolutely loving it so far. I don’t say this lightly, but this has the potential to be my new favorite Albertalli book… To tell you how big of a deal that is, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is my favorite contemporary book of all time.

Shadow and Bone trilogy – Leigh Bardugo
I’ve been saying this for so long, but I’m freaking determined! I want to watch the show! I bought the paperback boxset months ago, but I might switch back and forth between the ebooks because then I can read all night in bed.

Realm Breaker – Victoria Aveyard
This released today, and I’m so proud of myself for not accidentally pre-ordering three copies… like I did with War Storm. I also had access to the eARC of this, but I didn’t have time to read it.

City of Lost Souls and City of Heavenly Fire – Cassandra Clare
Yes, I’m re-reading it again. I’m listening to the audiobooks and am slowly working my way through all the Shadowhunter books because I fell behind. I still haven’t finished Queen of Air and Darkness or read the latest three books… oops.

Between the Bliss and Me – Lizzy Mason
This is another paperback ARC I got. I’m really enjoying it as well; it’s just been a hectic few months so I haven’t finished yet.

Spring’s Rising and Summer’s Rebellion – Robin D. Mahle & Elle Madison
I just finished re-reading the first book via audio last month, so now that the next two are available, I’ll continue my re-read of this amazing series!
I’m sure I’ll deviate from the list, but I’m hoping with this mixture of formats and genres, I will be able to get through a lot of them! I just might not sleep much this month…
What are you planning to read? Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments!
