I used to be the type of person who would go into a bookstore when I was younger and come out with at least one complete series and a few series that weren’t finished yet. This way, I could finish at least one series before my next bookstore trip. I have bills and other responsibilities now, so I’ll read a book usually before I buy it. Here are 10 books I want to buy currently:
1. Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas.
I read this series basically all of last year. I still need to read the last book, but this series is responsible for me getting my reading spark back. I usually can’t reread books for at least 2 years because I’ll remember too much, and it’s not exciting anymore. I think I’ll try to reread these though.
2. His Fair Assassin series by Robin LaFevers
I read the first three books a few years ago and loved them. The first part of the Into the Darkness duology came out on my birthday last year. I chose to buy other books for my birthday instead. I’ll probably end up buying these this year. I miss medieval France and my favorite assassin nuns.
3. Cursebreaker series by Brigid Kemmerer
I read the first book A Curse So Dark and Lonely last year, and I immediately wanted the second book. The series is a Beauty and The Beast retelling. The third book comes out today, so I will most likely purchase all of them to own very soon.
4. A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas
This is another Beauty and The Beast retelling that I read last year. I find myself missing the characters and wanting to relive the journey all over again. The fourth book, A Court of Silver Flames, comes out in about three weeks. I’m so excited to see all of my favorite characters and find out about more about Nesta Archeron.
5. Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr
This series still remains to be one of my favorites for the past decades. I still think of the characters fondly and find myself wanting to visit the world of the Fae according to Melissa Marr. I found out there is a prequel that was released last year. I’m now fighting the urge to buy it on kindle while you read this.
6. Winterkeep by Kristin Cashore
Winterkeep is the latest book set in the same world as Graceling. Graceling is one of the few books I have actually reread. I’m excited to get to see some familiar characters, and to learn about the new land. I’m curious to see what new magic this land has hidden.
7. The Last Hours trilogy by Cassandra Clare
The Last Hours trilogy is a sequel series to The Infernal Devices. The Last Hours tells the story of the children of the characters from the original series. The first two books will be out this year. I already purchased the first book, Chain of Gold, last year. I’m excited to continue the journey next month.
8. The Eldest Curses by Cassandra Clare
The Eldest Curses is about my two favorite characters, Alec Lightwood and Magnus Bane. I’m excited to read about their adventures. I have started the book a few times, and I loved it so far. I just always lose headphones, and I have an audiobook copy. I hope to finally get to start this series soon. I miss my Magnus Bane.
9. Bridgertons series by Julia Quinn
I’ve started watching Bridgerton on Netflix, and I’ve listened to a little of the audiobook. I love them so far, so it’s fair to say I will be obsessed soon.
10. Hush, Hush saga by Becca Fitzpatrick
I read this series a few summers ago. It’s a different take on fallen angels. Patch is the best kind of bad boy. It’s a solid series from start to finish, and I still think of the characters fondly. I hope to reread the series soon.
What books are you hoping to buy this year? What are your favorite series? Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments.
