Fall Out Boy Book Tag

By: Cait Marie

I saw this done by Sara @ The Bibliophagist and I was beyond excited! Fall Out Boy is that band I’ve loved since middle school–the one I will always love because they’ve been such a huge part of my life for so long.

Story time: I’ve seen them seven times and met them twice. The first time was in 2007, when my mom emailed the manager and got meet-n-greet passes for my 16th birthday! I met them with three friends, my sister and her friend, and my mom and her friend. During the bridge of Where is Your Boy Tonight, I lost it. I full-on bawled because it was my favorite song and it was all hitting me that I was really there and we had really met them.

I saw them twice in 2009, then they went on their three-four-year hiatus. When it was announced in 2013 they were releasing a new album, I freaked out and looked for the tour announcement I knew would accompany the album. A lot of musicians don’t come to Indiana, so I was terrified. But I soon saw that they were coming here… ON MY BIRTHDAY! So, I got to see them on my 22nd birthday, and met them again!

That was FOB concert number 4. I also saw them in 2015, 2016, and this past October (2018). Basically, I’ve seen them every time they’ve been in Indiana since 2009.

I also used to doodle their lyrics all the time. I’ll put some of the pictures at the end!

Alright, on to the tag!

The Rules:

  • Link to the creator’s blog (Raine Reads)
  • Thank the person who tagged you
  • Pick a book or character to answer each prompt
  • Tag as many bloggers as you’d like!

Take This To Your Grave

A book that’s a little rough around the edges but you love it anyway

First of all, this CD is the best, and I resent the “rough around the edges” description lol.

Second, I cannot think of a single answer for this one… my bad!

Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down

A book that lives up to the hype

A Court of Mist and Fury – Sarah J. Maas

I think it’s a pretty unanimous agreement that this is the best book in the series. And it very much deserves every bit of praise it gets. It’s wonderful!

Review of ACOMAF.

A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More “Touch Me”

A book with pop culture references

The Princess and the Fangirl – Ashley Poston

As it takes place at a convention, it is full of nerdy references that make me so happy! The Doctor Who references are my favorite.

Thnks Fr Th Mmrs

A book that you changed your opinion about

Carve the Mark – Veronica Roth

I thought this book was really confusing the first time I started reading it. It was before my true book/reading addiction began, and I didn’t have much experience with sci-fi or this level fantasy. However, I gave it another try and ended up absolutely loving it and the sequel!

Review for both books here.

What A Catch, Donnie

A character that you want to take care of

Dorian Havilliard

He is my precious cinnamon roll and he goes through entirely too much! It breaks my heart.

Just One Yesterday

A book you wish you could read for the first time again

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – J.K. Rowling

I mean… obviously.

Hot To The Touch, Cold On The Inside

A book that you were excited to read but ended up being a disappointment

The Road – Cormac McCarthy

I had heard so many times that this book was fantastic, but I cannot get through it. I’ve tried twice now and still cannot finish it.

Centuries

A book you see everywhere but are afraid to read

The Priory of the Orange Tree – Samantha Shannon

I’m still not completely confident reading epic fantasy, so I’m worried about struggling with it. Plus, there’s so much hype for it that I’m worried it won’t live up to the expectations.

Ghost Busters (I’m Not Afraid)

A new take on a classic story

A Curse so Dark and Lonely – Brigid Kemmerer

This is a retelling Beauty and the Beast, but it’s a mix of both modern and classic fairy tale settings. Plus, Harper has Cerebral Palsy, and it’s rare seeing physical disabilities in fantasy like this. It wasn’t the main focus, it was just kind of there. I absolutely love this book.

Young And Menace

A controversial book

Thirteen Reasons Why – Jay Asher

This is the only one I can think of that’s controversial that I’ve actually read. I haven’t seen the show to see why people have such issues with it. I get both sides of the argument, but I do think the book is good and important.

I’m not going to tag anyone specifically because I’m not sure who likes FOB. If you do, or just want to do the tag, consider yourself tagged! And please link back to me so I can see your answers.

Some of my doodles from like a decade ago…

I really loved the “believe” one. It’s for the lyrics “the best part of believe is the lie” from Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the Year, arguably one of their best songs ever, and I thought it was clever. I actually considered it for a tattoo at one point…
