Once again, J. D. Robb has not disappointed. This book was so good and different from the first two books. I was super excited to read this one. It started out exactly where the last book left off. Which made the story flow well.
The main characters, Eve and Roarke, grow even more throughout this story. The relationship grows when Eve’s personal issues come to light even more throughout this book. Which means we get a few answers. I enjoy how Roarke is always there for Eve no matter what the issue is.
There was a dilemma Eve had to face during this story, and it showed how difficult it was for her to separate work and other relationships. I think it would be hard for anyone if they were in her situation. It makes you think, how would you deal with it?
I love how we keep learning more about the time the plot is in between the vegetation and illegal drugs being made. There are some pretty creative medicines in this timeline.
As these two keep going along with all of the side characters, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Come to find out, there are around 50 books in the series, and Robb is still making new ones, so I can’t wait to see where things go.
I give this book a 5/5 stars. It was entertaining, suspenseful, and, of course, had a great mystery to it. I couldn’t believe who the killer was at the end. I didn’t even see it. What a twist it was. I highly recommend this series to fellow readers.
