Review
I’m in a massive wolf-shifter mood lately, so I was really excited to read the start of this new series. And Lela did not disappoint.
From the beginning, I was intrigued by these characters and their story. It’s such a unique plot, having an Alpha Seeker searching for the one who will unite the packs. I really enjoy the concept of the wolf inside them being a separate entity. In my teen years, I read a lot of wolf-shifter/werewolf books and don’t recall them having that sort of set up. So, I don’t know if it’s just a newer trend or if I just happened to read a couple books close together with the two beings connected like that, but I love it.
That being said, some of the world building was a little confusing, and I think it’s because I didn’t read the prequel first. So, I highly recommend starting with the Alpha Seeker novella. I read it after, which cleared up a lot of questions I had. I also read this particular book at an early stage, so some things might have been adjusted after I finished it.
Regardless, it was a fun read that was easy to get into. There was some spice, but it wasn’t the focus of the book. It was balanced well. I really just cannot wait for more. This felt like an introduction to a bigger story, so I’m excited to see where it goes and what happens to Pearl and Rylan. Their chemistry is great, and I’m looking forward to learning more about them, their history, and what happens next!
