Friday Favorites: Summer Reads

By: Stephanie Wyatt

Happy Friday, everyone! Don’t forget to check out the other awesome Friday Favorites posts here. And bloggers, add yours to the linky at the end!

I always used the summer as my own personal reading binge. I don’t know if it was because I did the summer reading program at my local library or because I just had the time. Either way, the tradition stuck. These are some of my favorites I read every few years and some that are on my TBR.

To Catch A Pirate by Jade Parker

I read this book every few years. It’s one of my favorites. James Sterling is one of my favorite pirates ever. It’s a simple love story and has pirates. I think pirate fiction is a hugely unexplored genre, and I will happily devour any pirate book I can find.

The Juliet Club by Suzanne Harper

This book tells the story of a group of high school kids who spend the summer abroad in Italy. It’s the typical teenage romance, but tropes are classic for a reason, right?

The Last Summer by Cait Marie

This is one of the best “last summer before college” books I have read in a while. Who doesn’t love a good bucket list story? You will want the characters to be your best friends. Its a quick read too, so it’s perfect for trips.

Wicked Lovely by Marissa Marr

Technically, this book takes place during colder months, but it’s only because the Winter Queen bound her son’s powers and made it eternal winter until he can find his queen. I have put this on quite a few lists on here, but it’s only because I read it years ago and still think about the characters. I also feel like no one talks about them, so I bring attention to them whenever I can.

What are your favorite summer reads? Have you read any of these? Let us know in the comments!
