Mariah’s ARC Review of “New Year’s Resolution” by Hope Kingston and Ivy Penn

I started this ARC book with no clue what I was getting myself into. Turns out, it was an amazing read, and I can’t wait to read more in this world. Hope and Ivy work really well together when they write books, and I cannot wait to read more by them both or separate.

The most intriguing part of this book was, I thought it was going to be another romance novel based on the beginning, but then I was given a loop to grab on to once the twists and turns happened. Once I got hooked, I could not put the book down. All 155 pages got read in one sitting because I needed to know what was going to happen next.

Once I got to the middle of the book, in my head, I was trying to figure out how Melanie was going to get out of the trouble she was in. It took awhile before she created a concrete plan with the help of Law. I loved how the adventure happened in this book and the secret traveling. I did not expect specific characters to get involved in the situation, but they proved to be fool proof and important.

I loved how Hope and Ivy created a scenario that could honestly happen and made everything come to life. I enjoyed their creativity with bringing in how an actual person would react to being in this specific situation.

This book proves you can sometimes never really know a person until you dig deep. I love the suspense that was involved with the digging. I really can’t wait to read another book by these authors.

I give this book a 5/5 star rating. I absolutely loved how well the book was written and how much action was packed into such a short read. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an action-packed adventure to read.
