This is my first book that I have ever read by Maria Vermisoglou. I loved The Meow Guardians. I have never read a book that is mostly about animals acting like humans, but this one makes you believe that cats and dogs could really be secret agents. I felt like I was engrossed in a world where everything made sense for once. Stray cats are all over the world, and it would make sense that they started out being secret agents first. Then, the house cats were enrolled in being a secret agent.
This book was full of fun adventures; I just wish we got to see more of the side characters’ missions. That would have made the book even more interesting. I enjoyed the idea of cats helping children who need extra assistance as well. This made it even more relatable. This book really made me think of cats in a different light as I do not always think of them as the best animal to have because I am a dog person.
This was a short read, so if you are looking for something to fill in a quick gap around the holidays, then this is your book. It is a fast-paced book that you can get through really quickly.
I really enjoyed this novella and rate it a 4.5/5 stars. The only reason it does not get a 5 star is because I wanted to see more of the partners cases as well. That would have made the story more interesting and longer. Other than that, I loved everything about the story. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
