Friday Favorites: Books I Am Thankful For

By: Mariah Brown

The books on this list are all books that have either cheered me up when I needed it or made me super excited about reading again when I was not in the mood for it. I want to thank all of these authors too because without them, I would not be as passionate as I am about reading.

Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling is the series I have grown up on and is always reliable to me. I am constantly reading it and always looking for similar books. If you have any recommendations, by all means I will take them. I am always able to read these books and end up with a smile on my face.

Thr3e by Ted Dekker was the book that got me into his books. I have now read at least five others and have loved them all. I plan to re-read this one soon and write my official review on it. If you are looking for a book with a lot of suspense, this would be the book for you though.

The Nihryst by Cait Marie is an amazing fantasy series that really makes me want to keep reading. I fell in love with Cait’s writing over this series, and it is the reason I am back to reading as much as I am. If you haven’t read this series, the first book is The Lost Legends.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare is another book/series that got me back into reading. I am currently on the third book and would not have found out about this series had it not been for a recommendation. This series has been an amazing one to read.

Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz is a book/series that got me through high school. I still have to read the last 3 books in the series, but so far none of them have disappointed me. I love the adventure and suspense in the books.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is a book/series that made me get really interested in dystopian type books. I never would have considered this genre before this series. I owe it to a friend that introduced me to this series.

I have many more books that I am thankful that exist. This is just a very short list of the major ones that mean the world to me. I will always rave about these books no matter what. They hold a big place in my heart. Thanks to all the authors that wrote them. It means the world to the readers.
