It’s almost time for my next readathon over in my Facebook group: Cait’s Inner Circle. Below are the details, as well as my TBR for the prompts!
Retelling Readathon – April 1-30

How it works: You get an entry for reading the book of the month, and then another entry per prompt you complete. You can pick and choose what to read. So, if you only want to do one prompt and skip the book of the month, that’s totally fine! The purpose is to get more people reading and talking about books.
PRIZES: There will be a big giveaway at the end based on these entries, and there will be smaller prizes throughout the month for anyone to participate in.
Book of the Month: The Lost Legends by Cait Marie (ME!!)
Prompts:
- A retelling based on the same story as your favorite Disney movie
- A retelling that is NOT based on a fairy tale (for example, there are a lot of retellings of classics like Shakespeare and Jane Austen)
- A retelling that is NOT written as fantasy (so any other genre)
I will check in each week, but feel free to comment below if you need recommendations or have some to share. You can also use this post to keep us updated on your selections.
There will be a live chat at the end of the month to chat about what we read, for me to give some updates, and I will do a Q & A. It will likely be on April 30 in the evening, but I will let you all know for sure when we get closer.
My TBR
A retelling based on the same story as your favorite Disney movie

To Kill a Kingdom – Alexandra Christo
The Little Mermaid has been my favorite Disney movie since birth, and this book has been on my TBR forever, so I am excited to finally get to it!
A retelling that in NOT based on a fairy tale

The Guinevere Deception – Kiersten White
I don’t consider King Arthur a “fairy tale,” so I’m counting this. It’s been sitting on the shelf beside me for like a year, and it’s been killing me!
A retelling that is NOT written as a fantasy

Heart of Iron – Ashley Poston
Sci-fi Anastasia?? Yes, please! Another one I’ve wanted to read for a long time because I love her Once Upon a Con series. I actually did start this a couple years ago, but with my new interest in sci-fi, I think it will be a lot easier to get into this time.
Interested in participating? What do you think you’re going to read?
