Cait’s Review of “Playbook” by Rebecca Jenshak

Blurb

Brogan Six’s fan mail has been filling my mailbox for weeks. With every lipstick covered letter I receive, my irritation with him grows. And let’s not talk about the time I accidentally opened one of the packages to find someone had sent him their panties. Gross.

When I come face-to-face with my new nemesis, I expect to give him a piece of my mind and we’ll go our separate ways. Me to an empty mailbox and him to sift through his panty collection.

That is not what happens.

I don’t know if it was the booze, his clever wit, or if I was tricked (I’m sure I was tricked), but now I’m fake dating the Mavericks’ hot new rookie.

And I might just be the next woman to lose her panties to Brogan Six.

Review

I’d had this book downloaded onto my Kindle app for… I don’t even know how long. Probably since it released last summer. And I’m so mad it took me this long to finally read it.

This was such a fun romance! I really loved Brogan and London. Brogan is one of those characters that is just… kind of over the top but in the best way possible. He’s obnoxious but cares so deeply about his friends and family. He gives off major comedic side-character vibes, which is always my favorite.

London, on the other hand, is a little more serious. She’s more down to earth, but she also enjoys Brogan’s big personality once she gets to know him. I love their friendship and how their fake relationship never actually feels fake.

It was a very light, entertaining read that was hard to put down. It had a little bit of spice, but that wasn’t the focus of the story. Overall, I really loved this book and definitely recommend it. It’s one I would probably reread in the future.
