Above ‘N’ Beyond by Tee O’ Fallon is the last book in the Federal K-9 Series. However, you can read them all as standalone books. There were a few moments though that I wished I had read the others because I felt like some moments would have absolutely melted my heart if I had read them in order.
This book follows Jamie Pataglio and his K-9 Jax. He is assigned to infiltrate the Marcusco crime family so they can get information to take them down. If Jamie accomplishes the mission, his father will be transferred to Burtner prison, where he can receive his cancer treatments.
He wasn’t expecting to meet Bella Bianco, owner of Bella’s Bistro, cousin of Tony Marcuoso and niece of the Godmother of the Marcusco crime family, Paola. A spitfire of a woman who is trying to be an honest business woman. A few months later, he’s questioning whether or not to risk the entire investigation and his father’s life so she can keep her dream alive.
I enjoyed the pacing of the story because Bella and Jamie fell in love through a series of normal events like working together and when he helped her find things for a stray puppy that broke into the restaurant for food.
This book has quite a few explicit sexual scenes around the halfway mark until the end, so I would rate it a 3/5 on the spice scale.
Overall, I would give this book a 4.5/5. This was my first cop/mafia romance and I enjoyed it. It made me want to read the whole series so that I could find out all of the relationships from the other members of the Federal K-9. It was a quick read, and I loved the relationship dynamics between all of the characters. It isn’t a five star just because I wasn’t as obsessed on it as my last five star read.
You can find Above ‘N’ Beyond by Tee O’ Fallon and the rest of the Federal K-9 Series on Amazon.
Happy reading!
