Happy Friday everyone! Brave characters are the best. They are the ones who are willing to risk everything for their friends and family. Here are a few of my favorite brave characters in books.

Lilliana (The Missing Legacy by Cait Marie)
She’s an amazing queen and is willing to do whatever is best for her kingdom. She knows how to be herself while maintaining her royal duties.
Thelma Foy (Cold Iron Heart by Melissa Marr)
Thelma Foy spent her whole life avoiding the fae because of the warnings from her mother. She made the decision to trust a fae to protect her from a life that terrified her. She turned her life upside down for someone she loved even though she knew he couldn’t stay in her life.
Xaden Riorson (The Empyrean Series by Rebecca Yarros)
He is the son of the man who tried to take over the country. He rose to the top rank in his quadrant He’s a jerk, but he looks out for his own. Anyone who has to face adversity and still rises to the top is brave in my book.
Camilla (Hearts of Maya series by Mikayla D. Hornedo)
Camilla acts first and thinks later. Her mouth is as swift as her sword. She called out the lord of her village for not caring for his subjects while he lived in luxury. She was publicly whipped, but she still stands up for others who need a voice.
Persephone (Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe)
She has been used as a pawn her entire life by people who claim to love her. Throughout the story, she faces challenges and meets them. She doesn’t put on any pretenses. Persephone grows in confidence but still makes mistakes. This is brave to me because I can imagine that being a goddess, she could have accepted her fate as The Goddess of Spring, but she wanted to learn more about the world. Authenticity is brave, and leaving everything you’ve known takes courage. Bravery isn’t only about brute strength or power.
