Blurb
He’s my brother’s best friend, but he never noticed me until the rest of the hockey team did.
Welp. It’s official.
The entire hockey team knows I’m a virgin.
And who do I have to thank for telling them about my v-card?
Theodore Taylor, aka my brother’s best friend and the pain in my butt since third grade.
Then again, I’m kind of sick of this thing.
My virgin status, that is.
It’s probably time I get rid of it.
Which would be a heck of a lot easier if Theo hadn’t made it his mission to be my own personal chastity belt for the foreseeable future.
Which leaves me screwed.
In every way except the literal sense.
Lovely.
Review
I was so excited for this book because I shipped Blakely and Theo so hard after the first book. And it was a good, fun read, but it didn’t quite capture me the way I’d hoped.
The book had some of my favorite tropes, including brother’s best friend and friends to enemies to lovers. The chemistry between the characters was perfect and steamy.
It felt a little repetitive at times though. Blake and Theo kept going around and around, having the same conversations. I don’t usually mind the will-they-won’t-they theme, but there’s a fine line between building up tension and dragging it out, and this book straddled that line. Some of the wording and vocabulary got repetitive too. For example, in the narration, Blake referred to him as “that bastard,” which was funny the first few times, but then she kept saying it. It got a little annoying, to be honest.
Don’t get me wrong, I still really enjoyed the book. If you’re looking for hockey romance, I definitely recommend this series. It’s fun and easy to read. I’m really looking forward to the next book about their friend Kate and Theo’s brother Macklin!
