Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My Fall 2023 TBR

By: Leah

Top Ten Tuesday used to be a weekly post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, but was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This is definitely something I can understand and want to participate in.

I’m currently drowning in ARCs, so the vast majority of my fall 2023 TBR is going to be ARCs. However, there are some books I got that I’m dying to start sooner rather than later. Here’s just some of the books I’m hoping to read in fall 2023:

  1. Among Thieves by M.J. Kuhn. The world needs more sapphic heist novels, and this is one of them.
  2. The Mask of Mirrors by M.A. Carrick. Any book described as a darkly magical fantasy adventure is one that I can’t resist.
  3. The Pomegranate Gate by Ariel Kaplan. A Jewish-inspired fantasy that takes place during the Inquisition is one that I absolutely had to get my hands on immediately.
  4. Shield Maiden by Sharon Emmerichs. This Beowulf retelling is told from the perspective of a young woman, and seems to have some disability rep.
  5. The Reformatory by Tananarive Due. This is a historical fiction novel about the infamous Dozier School for Boys by an author I’ve heard nothing but incredible things about.
  6. A Grandmother Begins the Story by Michelle Porter. I’m always a sucker for a multigenerational saga, and this one is about a family of Métis women and their surroundings.
  7. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. Yeah, I fell for the hype and couldn’t get past the FOMO. Now to find the time to read it.
  8. Fairy Tale by Stephen King. This was a gift from my dear friend who is a die hard King fan, and I can’t wait to read it.
  9. Kissing Kosher by Jean Meltzer. I’ve been dying to read this, and just won it in a contest, so now I have to read it!
  10. Light Bringer by Pierce Brown. I’ve been waiting for this book since the minute I finished the last one.

What are some of the books on your autumn TBR? Do you have any in common with me?
