Mariah’s ARC Review of “Crimson Tides” by L. J. Windridge

By: Mariah Brown

First of all, I want to start off by saying this is L. J. Windridge’s second full-length book, but third book total. I am beyond ecstatic to be a part of her Beta/ARC team because her first book was amazing. The novella was amazing, too. However, Crimson Tides blew the roof off the house.

I was super excited to have the chance to continue a story I fell in love with, and the author did not disappoint. I was pulled right back into the universe where the last book left off, which was an amazing concept. I didn’t have to go back and read book one as this book brought back some of those events and then started up.

I will say the beginning was a tiny bit slow, but the last 15-20 chapters made up for that by a long shot. The action-packed ending was so amazing that I could not put the book down. Between Red learning intriguing facts about herself and maybe getting a love interest, there were just so many things involved.

I will warn you, as a reader, if you don’t like cliffhangers in a book, I would wait until the third book comes out as there are some ginormous cliffhangers at the end of this book. This cliffhanger is killing me, not knowing what’s coming next in the series. I must know what happened.

I give this book a 6/5 stars as it was that involved and intriguing. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a good fantasy book that comes with a map and, of course, kings and queens. It is so worth the read, but remember to start with book 1 called Red Wolf.
