Thank you, Edelweiss for the chance to read and review this book.
This would make a great coffee table conversation starter. It’s a great basic reference book that seems geared more toward those who know little to nothing about the Chinese Zodiac. The artwork in it is beautiful and ties everything together spectacularly.
The book is 10 chapters and split into two parts: (1) The Year Signs and the Elements and (2) The Polarities, Month Signs, and Four Pillars of Destiny. Part one is full of the basic things that anyone who has ventured into Chinese Astrology is familiar with; i.e. finding your animal and element and what they mean. Part two goes into the compatibility – how they compare and combine, the monthly animals (like the Western Zodiac) and what they mean in each year, and other things. If you have basic knowledge, part two will likely be more interesting than part one, but if you’re just looking for something general to learn and/or use as a statement/conversation starter piece after, this would be something to check out.
It is well written and I enjoyed how in-depth the author did go. I enjoyed part two more as I’ve known the basics of this zodiac since I was little. It’s also a quick read and easy to flip to the section(s) that interest you.
