Hello and welcome to Friday Favorites. I am super excited to write this post as I have many authors I would love to recognize here.
Remember, this prompt came from Functionally Fictional’s list of Friday Favorite post themes, which you can find here.
Bloggers, the linky to add your post is at the bottom.

The first book I would love to discuss is Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. This book was such an amazing read. I plan to reread it again soon. I read it back in high school and loved it. I can’t wait to refresh my memory.
This next book I want to rave about is Beloved by Toni Morrison. This book is very graphic and detailed, so I want to warn everyone who chooses to read this book. Besides the graphic details, it was a heart wrenching book to read. I truly enjoyed it because it made me feel specific emotions I have never felt while reading a story.

Another book that I read was the Color Purple by Alice Walker. This book was amazing. It was so good that it was even turned into a movie. I definitely plan to reread this one soon and hope that others will read this one.
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston was an amazing read from high school. I plan to reread it and relive what I enjoyed. This was one of the first books I read in high school, so I don’t remember the entire plot, which is great because I will reread it and not know what is coming next. I love being able to read a book again like it is the first time.

These next books are ones that I want to read but have not had the chance to yet. I have heard amazing things about them.

Becoming by Michele Obama has been at the top of my list to read for awhile now. I can’t wait to read this one.
A more recent popular book that I wanted to read is called The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I am not sure what it is about, as I like to be surprised when I read the story, so I cannot wait to start reading it.

The Mermaid, The Witch, and The Sea by Maggie Tokuda-Hall looks really intriguing, and I cannot wait to own a copy. Just based off the cover, I want to read it. This one I am super excited about.
These are just a few of the amazing books I have read by BIPOC authors and they are amazing reads. I hope sharing this small portion of my list gets you interested in these books as much as I am.
Please let me know if you have read some of these and how you enjoyed them. I would love to hear from you!
