From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I don’t know what to say about this. I didn’t hate it, but it never fully hooked me either. I’m going to finish the series because I’ve heard it gets better, and I don’t believe in not finishing books.
What are you currently reading?
The Missing Crown by Cait Marie
I’m so excited to read this book! I love when stories continue with kids from the original series. I just got the ARC yesterday, so I’m not far, but I’m excited to go on the journey.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin
I bought this book on sale on Amazon for $5 after Sarah J. Maas raved about the series during a virtual happy hour with her husband. I’m curious to see what the story has to offer.

Functionally Fictional 
I’ve been meaning to pick up From Blood & Ash, but I keep seeing reviews like yours that say it was okay but nothing captivating. Maybe I’ll get to it in 2023!

Most people love it. Hawke was creepy to me. I usually love problematic male leads, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. There’s pockets of action, but the story didn’t grab me.
