Friday Favorites: Spooky Books

By: Stephanie Wyatt

Happy Friday, everyone! Monday is Halloween, so we’re going to talk about spooky books! I’m not a huge horror person, so my definition of spooky will be books that have dark, and creepy vibes.

If you want to see more excellent posts like this one, you can find them here.

Bloggers, the linky to add yours is at the end!

Fallen series by Lauren Kate

This series tells the story of a young woman with two loves, an angel named Daniel and his rival Cam. Every time they find each other, they are murdered and reincarnated to see each other in the next life. They have some pretty intense, scary scenes.

Night World series by L.J. Smith

This is a series of nine books, where each part of the story continues in one part of each book. The Night World is a secret society of werewolves, witches, vampires, and shape-shifters that live among humans. They follow classic lore for the most part, which tends to have darker themes.

Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush Hush tells the story of Nora, whose father was murdered mysteriously. She lives in a creepy old house, and the new resident bad boy, Patch, takes an interest in her. There are some cool, scary scenes, and the descriptions are amazing. Patch is one of my favorite book boys.

Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr

Ink Exchange is the second book in The Wicked Lovely series. The readers learn about the Dark Court, which is the stuff of nightmares. They feed off of people’s fear and pain. The characters continue their story throughout the rest of the series. I’m excited to read the prequel book, which mentions The Dark King Irial. They also have some of my favorite relationships in the series.

What are your favorite books/movies for spooky season? Let me know in the comments! Happy Halloween!
