Friday Favorites: Jobs and Occupations of Fictional Characters You’d Love to Have

Happy Friday, guys! This prompt is one of my favorites. I don’t know about you, but whenever I read a book or watch something, I think about what job I would want if I lived in that universe. These are only a few jobs.

1. A crewmember of the Nihryst

I love pirates, and The Nihryst series by Cait Marie reinforced that love. I want to just hang out on the ship and play games with everyone.

2. An assassin from His Fair Assassins by Robin Lafevers

I want to be an assassin so bad. I honestly almost turned this post into an essay on my favorite assassins and how I wanted to be them. I also appreciate how all of their births were traumatic and that’s how Death claimed them. I thought that was an interesting take on a school of assassins.

3. Bryce’s coworker at Jesiba’s gallery in The House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas

I love how realistic Bryce’s job is in the first Crescent City book. She gets to just wait for clients to come, and then she shows them around. Then, the errands her boss has her go on are a bit too dangerous for her pay grade. However, I would happily go into a drunken den full of fae to retrieve a priceless artifact and sell it to the highest bidder.

4. Winter Girl from Wicked Lovely by Marissa Marr

The Winter Girl’s job is to ruin the Summer King’s romantic relationships so he doesn’t find his queen. She’s always cold and has winter powers. I always wanted to be her because that’s the pettiest way to get over a breakup. Convincing the newest girl to leave him so she doesn’t end up freezing for eternity until someone else is stupid enough to take the risk of becoming his queen.

5. A member of Rhys’ Inner Circle from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

I want to hang out with them. They have the best group dynamic and the best bonds. I want to train with Cassian and Azriel. I want to celebrate Starfall and go to Velarias. I just feel like it would be the best job ever.
