Mariah’s ARC Review of “Grimm: Daughter of a Curse” by J. R. White

By: Mariah Brown

Grimm: Daughter of a Curse by J. R. White was such an amazing read that I could not put down. I started reading it as a side book because sometimes retellings are not my favorite, but this one was very well done. The detail in the book made me realize how much I LOVE a good retelling. I wanted to read more about the characters once the book was over. That is how much I enjoyed the story.

The world building was phenomenal. I was able to picture what it was like for Grimm and how the forest was around her, as well as all the other locations she was at. I could vividly picture the places as if I was there myself, and this is a major compliment to White because of how well the building of the story was done. I love when I can put a picture to the book I am reading. That is what makes me get more involved with it. I truly love this and really want to read more books by this author because of it.

The characters in the story were very well written. They made me feel once again like I was in the book. I could actually picture conversations and events happening. I was able to put Grimm’s perspective into my mind, and I could relate to what she was going through with her love. It was interesting to see how things would unfold with each of the characters involved in the story. This made me want to keep reading.

I definitely rate this book a 5/5 star. I enjoyed how well it was written and how much detail was put into it. This is a book that can be read at a younger age, but it is really good for adults who love retellings as well. I highly recommend reading this book if you have the chance.

I received an ARC for an honest review.
