Happy Wednesday! Time for our favorite weekly reading update!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly reading update hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

I read multiple books at a time. I will only have one book for each question.

What book are you currently reading?

Song of Silver, Flame Like Night by Amélie Wen Zhao

I just started this a few days ago. The cover was pretty and it has dragons. I’m less than 20 pages in, but there was a chronological timeline and map in front. I am intrigued and ready to dive into the journey. It’s the first book in the Song of The Last Kingdom duology.

What did you recently finish reading?

The Phantom Ink (Fairy Tale Flip Book Series #2) by Cassie Swindon

The Phantom Ink is the sequel to The Wicked Blue. It is a gender bent Beauty and the Beast retelling about a young witch named Mora. She and her friends were cursed as a punishment for the murder of her youngest sister, Lessie, who tripped on a root and fell off of a cliff to her death after a spell gone wrong. The characters are hilarious. It’s a quick read, less than 400 pages. Someone could probably read it in a day or two. The stories are all connected so there are callbacks from the first book in the series, which I love.

What do you think you’ll read next?

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

This is the first book in the Ember in the Ashes quartet. I’m a few chapters in so far, and it’s really good. Laia has to find the Resistance after her parents and grandparents were murdered by the government. Her brother was captured and taken prisoner. Now, she must convince the Resistance to help her rescue the only family she has left. These books have been on my TBR forever, so I’m excited to read them.

What have you been reading lately? Have you read any of these? What did you think? Let us know in the comments!
